What is #PeaceDay? The International Day of Peace(#PeaceDay) was established by a United Nations resolution in 1981, and was first celebrated September 21, 1982. This day provides an opportunity for individuals, organizations and nations to create practical acts of Peace on a shared date.
The theme of this year’s commemoration is “Partnerships for Peace – Dignity for All” which aims to highlight the importance of all segments of society to work together to strive for peace.
The United Nations invites all nations and people to honor a cessation of hostilities during the Day, and to otherwise commemorate the Day through education and public awareness on issues related to peace.
Yesterday, Mitzi & I took part in PeaceFest in Rockport, MA. PeaceFest was sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Society of Rockport, in celebration of love, peace, and tolerance.
Though not a mammoth event in Rockport, it was lots of fun, nonetheless... Here's the link to see some of the shots from PeaceFest 2015!
