THIS MONTH'S FEATURE:
Two Ukrianian Parents Living Amid War Discuss the Struggle to Keep Their Families Safe by Maea Lenei Buhre

THIS MONTH's GOOD READ(S): I’ve included the link to this month's best reads on amazon.com, because it’s easy to find the books; but if possible, see about buying your books from a local bookseller… they may be a little more expensive, but you’ll be benefiting the local community…
THIS MONTH'S ENTERTAINMENT: We've been glued to the TV following the Ukraine/Russia conflict, so any respite from the violence has been welcome! One bright spot has been watching Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates, Jr., on PBS. Watching how the Roots researchers accompany famous people as they meet a cast of inspiring ancestors hidden in the branches of their family trees has been fascinating! Have you seen it yet?

PEACE CC SUPPORTS UKRAINE RELIEF
Peace CC has supported the Ukraine Relief Effort by donating to World Central Kitchen, founded and run by Chef
José Andrés.
Working at a 24-hour pedestrian border crossing in southern Poland, WCK began serving hot, nourishing meals within hours of the initial invasion, and we are now serving round-the-clock dishes at eight border crossings across the country. Additionally, we are supporting local restaurants preparing meals in 12 Ukrainian cities including in Odessa, Lviv, and Kyiv. WCK teams are also on the ground serving thousands of meals every day in Romania, Moldova, and Hungary.
As the situation continues to evolve, WCK will continue to help in the best way we know how, with a freshly prepared plate of food—and we're ready to expand our support for families in need.
If you'd like to help the Ukrainian Relief Effort, please consider supporting WCK.org or any number of other Relief agencies!

LOVE LAUNDRY
We are asking people to collect spare change (especially quarters!) and either donate them to PCC or to donate them directly to a local laundromat, so that customers can use them to help do their laundry. In these trying times, any little bit helps - plus, #kindness is always a good thing!

DONATING TO FOOD BANKS & FOOD PANTRIES
A lot of people live with food insecurity, and food banks and pantries are depleted. If you are fortunate enough to have extra resources, I hope you'll consider donating either money or dry goods to a food bank or your local food pantry. What a blessing you'll be to those in need! Also, if you've been following the crisis in Ukraine/Russia, you know how much the Ukrainian people need help. Please consider making a donation to Ukrainian relief organizations, like UkraineRelief or World Central Kitchen. Peace.

HATS HELPING HUMANITY: CALLING ALL KNITTERS AND CROCHETERS!
Our resident knitters knitted 325 hats, with 125 being donated to the Veterans in Milford. We also enlisted the help of some of the students at Greenwich Academy in Greenwich with our project, and we donated those hats, along with the remaining 200 to the folks at the Beth-El Shelter (Milford) and the New Covenant Center (Stamford)!! If you're a knitter and would like to help out by knitting a few hats, please contact Pastor Don at 203.726.0014. I'll put you in contact with Pam and she can tell you all about it!

Our friends at New Covenant Center in Stamford, are looking for dry goods for their food pantry. I spoke to Rafael and he sent me their donation list (click here to see what foods are needed). He also sent me a list of supplies needed, as well (you can get that here).
If you'd like to help them out, you can take your donations directly to their facility, 174 Richmond Hill Avenue in Stamford. Thanks for your help!
